Banana, Blueberry and Apple Puree

Recommended for 6 months and up. (Please speak to your babies pediatrician/doctor about starting new foods before you try anything. Introduce one new food at a time, look out for allergic reactions, and remember that all new foods should be introduced to babies at least three days apart.)

If you are looking for an easy, quick, and yummy recipe for baby, this one is perfect for that. A big food processor like Hamilton Beach 70730 Bowl Scraper Food Processor
will work perfect when you are making large amounts of food for baby. This was one of the first blended recipes I tried with him. Bananas and blueberries are an awesome pair, and apples are tasty in almost any recipe. Sometimes I add pureed brown rice to this recipe, but its not necessary. Adding the brown rice will definitely keep baby fuller longer, and makes a healthy breakfast. Blueberries are a super food when it comes to antioxidants, and its important to add them to your babies diet. There is no need to worry cause blueberries are not like the other berries… they are not subject to the usual “no berries” rule. I started my son on blueberries at 6 months old, and I always enjoyed making blueberries cause there is no need to cook them!

Banana, Blueberry and Apple Puree

Total Time: 8 minutes

Yield: 17 servings

  • 3 apples
  • 3 bananas
  • 2 cups of blueberries
  • 1/4 cup water

  1. Bring steamer to a boil. In the meantime, wash and peel the apples.
  2. Place apples in steamer and steam for about 8 minutes or until tender.
  3. While apples are steaming, wash blueberries and cut bananas into pieces.
  4. When apples are finished, place all ingredients (including water) into the blender/food processor. Puree until desired consistency.
  5. Store in food freezer tray.

(I wash my blueberries in a little bit of vinegar and water mixture, if I didn't buy organic. If you prefer, you can lightly steam the blueberries, but its not necessary.)
