(Recommended from 4-6 months and up)
Please speak to your babies pediatrician/doctor about starting new foods before you try anything. Introduce one new food at a time, look out for allergic reactions, and remember that all new foods should be introduced to babies at least three days apart.
This extra simple avocado puree was my sons first food, and for awhile this was the only puree he would eat. Which was awesome for me cause you don’t need to cook the avocado. Even though I love being able to make homemade baby food for my son, I don’t like standing in the kitchen all day blending food. I usually make large batches of baby food at once so it can take awhile to get everything done. In the end its worth it though, cause I will have baby food to last almost the whole month. Usually when I make this avocado puree I only make a small batch, cause its so quick that there is no need to make large batches. Its done is 5 minutes!!!
Avocado by itself doesn’t taste that great to me, actually its kinda gross by itself. For some reason my son loved it though, and I couldn’t figure out why. Maybe its the texture, because his taste buds were not fully developed back then.
Avocado puree is something I think everyone should make for their baby, even if you never plan to make baby food this one is too simple to not make! Plus, Avocados are a good source of dietary fiber, copper, vitamin K, folate, vitamin B6, potassium, and vitamin E. They are also loaded with Vitamin C, and are considered a super-food!
- 1 avocado
- 1/4 cup of water
- Peel the avocado and remove the pit.
- Add the peeled and pitted avocado to a blender with water.
- Blend until desired consistency. Add more water if needed.
This does not make a large batch of baby food. If you are looking to make a large batch, double or triple the ingredients!
