Red Wine Strawberry Lime Slushy

Hello foodie friends! I am so happy to be back to blogging, cooking, and sharing more delicious recipes. I have been away from my blog for a couple of weeks, due to my big move from Atlanta to Toronto. I am excited to be back in Toronto, where I am originally from, and reunited with my family. Although I will miss all the wonderful friends I made while living in Atlanta, and of course the amazing weather.

I know what you’re thinking, “she never updates her blog on a Tuesday”. Normally, I would post new recipes every Wednesday, but I thought I might switch it up a little. New recipes will be posted every Tuesday, until I find a better day that works with my schedule here in Toronto.

Red Wine Strawberry Lime Slushy

This red wine strawberry lime slushy was the perfect recipe to make after my big move. It was like drinking my favorite slushy recipe, with a little red wine to help me unwind…. (The rhyming was done unintentionally, I promise.)

Plus, who doesn’t like red wine? (okay maybe my sister) but seriously, red wine is one of the only alcoholic beverages I drink. My friends couldn’t get me to drink alcohol even if they paid me….BUT, I hear red wine is good for your heart, so I like to pretend that I am being healthy while drinking this.

If you are still on this page wondering if you should make this or not, check out these 5 cool points below.

  • Refreshing on a hot summer day
  • A sweet strawberry flavor
  • Red wine has amazing health benefits
  • Quick & easy to make
  • There is booze in it.

Enough said.

  2. Add the sugar and lime juice and blend to mix in.
  3. Add the frozen strawberries and blend into the slush mixture until smooth like a slushy.

Let it sit for about 5 minutes after its done. It will be much easier to drink with a straw after sitting for a few minutes.

  1. Looks like a lovely thirsty quencher, especially after moving!! Moving is so much work, so hopefully you’re all settled in πŸ™‚ Love the strawberries in there! You must find a difference in the weather, coming from Atlanta, but it’s nice that you are back with your family!

Thank you Dawn! I love slushies, so this was perfect after my move. Moving is a lot of work, some of my things are still in boxes. I pack quickly, but take forever to unpack, LOL! Right now I think I actually prefer Toronto’s weather, because Atlanta can get wayyyyy too hot. I don’t think I will be saying the same thing in a few months though. Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  2. I like strawberries and I like red wine so looks like gotta give it a try! I love moving, I know it is stressful and everything but it’s like a new beginning, new chance! Even if it is the place where you have already lived before. Or is it just me?

    • yuminyourtum

Thank you Julia! The red wine and strawberries pair well together. I agree, the best part about moving is a new beginning. That is probably the only reason why I love moving, everything feels like a fresh start! Even if its a place I lived before. I also enjoy getting to know Toronto again, so much has changed!!! Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  3. This slushy drink is just perfect, Amanda! πŸ™‚ My friends and I were feasting our eyes while showing them your beautiful pictures and recipes. They are going to share with their friends, too. Welcome back and have a great summer with your family in Toronto! πŸ™‚

Thank you Kaia! Red wine is my favorite as well, and it goes very well with the strawberries. πŸ™‚

  5. I’m happy to hear that you are back home. I’ve heard Toronto is gorgeous! But not as gorgeous as your profile picture! Talk about hotness!! πŸ™‚

We’re going to a friend’s lake house for the 4th of July and I’m looking for goodies to bring and this fits the bill! I may add a couple blueberries to bring in some blue! I love adult slushies.

    • yuminyourtum

Thank you very much Tanya! πŸ™‚ I am enjoying getting to know Toronto all over again…and thanks! It was about time I updated my profile pic. πŸ™‚
This would be perfect for 4th of July, and the blueberries sound like a great addition. Adult slushies are the best!!! Thanks for stopping by! x

  6. Glad you finished the move to Toronto! There’s nothing quite like home, is there? πŸ™‚ Meanwhile, I’m so loving everything about this slushy. Friendly neighborhood recipe share? πŸ˜‰ Looking forward to more of your summer recipes, Amanda! Wishing you the best time settling in. Pinning, of course! xo
